Rose is officially a two year old today. Yup, it's the Princess's birthday. I had all intentions on writing on how she's been doing recently, update her stats and get out there and take new photos today, however it's not going to happen as I had originally planned.
Our gelding who was suffering from navicular had finally gotten to the point where I could no longer make him comfortable so after contacting his former owner (who also bred and raised him) we both agreed it was finally time. The Bay Print was euthanized this morning at sunrise. He couldn't have had a happier ending. He was given full run of the farm last night, all the alfalfa he could consume at free will and this morning I fed him the entire bag of his favorite treats, Rounders, until the vet arrived. It may take me a few days or so before I feel like writing again.

Happy Birthday Rose!
Amy- Thank you for doing so well by your gelding. You are the type of woman- and FAMILY- that this world needs more of. Be sure to keep that handsome horse in your heart always, so that he may always be with you!

Godspeed, beautiful boy.
What was his breeding? He looks so much like my Vandy-Leo mare. Those big kind eyes, and a beautiful face with a delicate muzzle.
What a sad day. I am sorry for your loss, sending warm thoughts your way. Sounds like it was a tough, but the right, decision.
Your mare rose is beautiful! Love her big white hiney! ;)
So sorry for the loss of your good boy.
Amy we are so sorry to hear about the loss of your big guy. I know how hard it is to lose them when we love them so much, but he passed knowing what being loved was like and with a full tummy.
Thinking of you and your family,
Dale, Nikki, Anna, Trey & Bobby C
